Be Careful What You Think About....

Let's talk about thought. Because it is quite important as most actions are preceded by thought. If you look back, many positive outcomes in your life have been determined by thought and then action. But those positive outcomes never would have come about if you thought negatively about your chances of succeeding. So, in other words:

***If you think you can, you can. If you think you can't, you're right!***

Or to put it another way, if you are reading this and thinking that you CAN'T be healthy, wealthy, happy and wise, all at the same time, then you are right. You can't. But if you THINK you can, you can.

Let us show you how. All we ask is that you keep an open mind.

You see, if you think of any of the great ground breaking inventions of recent times, e.g. the printing press, the Internet, computers, Vitali-Chi :) to name but four, then if their respective inventors had thought "that's impossible" or "it CANNOT be done" then the simple truth of the matter is that those inventions would not have been invented by those people.

Do you see the power in thought? Positive thought (thinking you can) followed by action (doing it) is magnificently powerful. If you really commit to that thought and action, then you have uncovered one of the great secrets.

But this has been well described by William Murray, who led the Scottish Himalayan expedition in 1951. He wisely said:

"Until one is committed, there is hesitancy, the chance to draw back, always ineffectiveness. Concerning all acts of initiative (and creation), there is one elementary truth the ignorance of which kills countless ideas and splendid plans: that the moment one definitely commits oneself, then providence moves too. A whole stream of events issues from the decision, raising in one's favour all manner of unforeseen incidents, meetings and material assistance, which no man could have dreamt would have come his way."

Actually, I think he was inspired by Goethe, the German poet and philosopher: "Whatever you do, or dream you can, begin it. Boldness has genius and power and magic in it." So, there you have it. Please don't take my word for it. We are all saying the same thing: If you think you can, you can. If you think you can't, you're right!

Your 'homework' is to think about this phrase and how you have used it in the past, both positively and negatively. e.g what have you achieved because you thought you could achieve it? But importantly, what have you NOT achieved or even attempted because you thought you "can't"? Even more importantly, what could you start today, if you thought you could or to put it another way, if you THINK YOU CAN?
